Abstract
Anemia is a condition of reduced red blood cells (erythrocytes) in the blood circulation or mass of hemoglobin, so that it is unable to fulfill its function as a carrier of oxygen throughout the tissues. The prevalence in pregnant women worldwide is 41.8%. Anemic events throughout the world, namely 50% occur in Africa, 40% in Asia, and the rest occur in America and Europe. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of adherence of pregnant women in consuming Fe tablets with anemia at Work Area of the Muara Batu Health Center in North Aceh Sub-district in 2018.
This study is an Analytical Survey with a cross sectional approach. The location of this study was at Work Area of Muara Batu Health Center, North Aceh Sub-District. The populations in this study were 30 respondents with samples taken by using a total sampling of 30 respondents.
The results showed that of the 30 respondents who did not adhere to consuming Fe tablets as many as 21 people (70%) and those who obediently consumed Fe tablets as many as 9 people (30%). The results of statistical tests using Chi-Square, where p-value 0.031 <0.05 indicated that there was a significant relationship between the compliance of pregnant women in consuming Fe tablets with anemia at Work Area of Muara Batu Health Center, North Aceh Sub-District in 2018.
The conclusion of the study shows that there is a relationship between the compliance of pregnant women in consuming Fe Tablets with Anemia. It is expected that pregnant women can find information about the benefits of consuming Fe tablets and health workers to provide counseling to pregnant women about the benefits of Fe tablets when pregnant women do ANC visit in order to reduce the occurrence of anemia.
