Abstract
Violence behavior is a major problem that occurs in Tampan Psychiatric Hospital Pekanbaru. This study objective is to determine the effect of nursing strategies in the face of violent behavior of inpatient at Tampan Psychiatric Hospital Pekanbaru.
This research used quantitative research with Analytic Survey design, and the sample were taken by using sampling technique with Cross Sectional approach amounted 97 Patients. This research instruments consisted of preventative stratality questionnaires and anticipatory strategy questionnaires as well as the Strategy of Surviving.
The result of the research showed that preventive strategy has Psig value 0.055 > 0.05 there is no influence of prevention strategy, anticipation strategy has value Psig 0,55 > 0,05 there is no influence of anticipation strategy in time period of patient hardness behavior, restraint strategy has value 0,47 < 0.05 there is an effect of restraint strategies in dealing with patient behavior. In this research, there is no strategy of preventive strategy and anticipation strategy to overcome the behavior of violence of inpatients and there is influence of effectiveness strategy to face behavior of inpatient at Tampan Psychiatric Hospital Pekanbaru 2017.
It is suggested ands adviced for nurses who deal directly with psychiatric patients to understand nursing strategies from sp 1 to sp 5 consisting of, breathing in, refusing well, praying, taking medication and therapeutic communication well in rest or other mental disorders in the room hospitalization in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) in Tampan Psychiatric hospitals Pekanbaru.
