Abstract
Smoking is a behavior that is harmful to health, but there are still many people who do it, even people start smoking when he was a teenager. WHO estimates world mortality rate due to cigarette consumption in 2030 will reach 10 million people every year and about 70% occur in developing countries including Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to know and analyze the influence of knowledge, attitude, cigarette advertisement and social environment on smoking behavior of society at Public Health Center of Labuhan Batu Regency Year 2018.
This research is a research with analytic survey method. This research was conducted at Health Center Negeri Lama Bilah Hilir District Labuhan Batu District. The population is the entire community in the working area of the Old State Public Health Center of Labuhan Batu District with Upper Respiratory Infection (ISPA) in 2017, amounting to 1,022 people. Sample of 91 respondents with sampling technique that is accidental sampling. The results were tested using chi square analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis.
The result of this research is known that the knowledge variable is not related (ρ = 082> 0,05), unrelated attitude variable (ρ = 714> 0,05), cigarette advertisement advertisement variables (ρ = 002 <0,05) and social environment variable related (ρ = 005 <0,05) to public smoking behavior at Public Health Center of Labuhan Batu Regency Year 2018.
The conclusion of multiple logistic regression equation is known that the respondents who are exposed to cigarette advertisement and respondent with bad social environment have an effect on the smoking behavior of public in Public Health Center of Labuhan Batu Regency at 66,9%, while the rest of 33,1% is influenced by factor others that are not conducted research in this study. It is hoped for the Community in the form of supervision to adolescents who smoke and give verbal reprimands accompanied by advice, the goal is to narrow the open space for adolescents who smoke and increase exposure to cigarette information itself to teenagers.
