Abstract

Antibiotics are chemicals produced by microbes such as fungi and others in certain concentrations that have the ability to kill and inhibit the growth of other microbes. In countries that have advanced 13-37% of all patients treated in hospitals get antibiotics both singly and in combination, whereas in developing countries 30-80% of patients who are hospitalized receive antibiotics. The purpose of this study is to find out the types of dosage forms that are most widely used at Jemadi Pharmacy from January to March 2018 and to find out the use of antibiotics on lung diseases in the most widely used and least used at Jemadi Pharmacy starting from January to March 2018.
This research uses a descriptive method. In a descriptive survey which was done on a set of objects that usually aim to see a picture of phenomenon (including health) that occurs in a particular population. This research was done retrospectively and the results of the study were presented in a narrative or description.
The most widely used pulmonary antibiotic dosage form is tablets. The antibiotics used in the period January-March 2018 are levofloxacin 500 mg as much as 44,300 (73.8%), lecrav 500 mg as much as 106 (45.9%), LQ 500 mg as much 125 (54.1%), bicrolid 250 mg as much as 7500 (12.5%), claritromycin 500 mg as much as 8200 (13.7%). It is expected that the next researcher evaluate the patients’ compliance with the use of pulmonary drugs.
