Abstract
The implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation will be able to reduce maternal and child mortality, and be able to prosper the community and prevent births. The implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation at Working Area of Kosik Putih Health Center is also still low from the target number of coverage. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between behavior and motivation of midwives in the implementing early breastfeeding initiation at Working Area of Kosik Putih Health Center, North Padang Lawas District in 2018.
This study uses an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. The populations of this study as many as 35 respondents and all the population was sampled (total population). Based on the percentage of each table column frequency distribution and chi-Square test analysis at the significance level P <0.05 with a 95% confidence level.
The results of the study the majority of respondents' knowledge in the category of less as many as 14 people (40.0%), the attitude of the majority respondents positive category 21 people (60.0%), for the majority of respondents motivated motivation category 19 people (54.3%) and the implementation of Breastfeeding Initiation Early with a total of 20 people (57.1). The results of the Chi-Square test showed that the p value value was 0.002 <0.05, p value 0.015 <0.05 and p value 0.012 <0.05.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship of Knowledge, Attitude and motivation in the implementation of Early Breastfeeding initiation at the Working Area of Kosik Putih Health Center in North Padang Lawas District in 2018. It is suggested to respondents to further improve their knowledge about the Implementation of Early Breastfeeding Initiation.
