Abstract
Based on preliminary survey data from laboratory testing, 43% of well water showed results above 1.2 mg / L which exceeded the threshold of 1.0 mg / L. Water pollution is likely due to the location close to the Industrial Plant, Martha Friska Hospital and TPS (Temporary Disposal Site). The purpose of this study was to determine nitrite levels contained in well water at Kelurahan Tanjung Mulia, Medan Deli Subdistrict Lingkungan 1 Lorong 12.
This research is descriptive where the object of the research is drilled well water and dug well water. Examination of the nitrite content of drilled well water and dug well water using a spectrophotometer method at BTKLPP Class 1 Medan. The sampling technique used the total sampling where the entire population is sampled with 30 well water
The results of research conducted from 30 well samples of 24 samples (80%) containing nitrite compounds exceeded the quality standard threshold where there were 16 samples (53%) drilled well water and 8 samples (27%) dug well water and which did not exceed the standard quality threshold is only 6 samples (20%), namely 3 samples (10%) drilled well water and 3 samples (10%) dug well water
Conclusions from the results of research that has been carried out that 24 samples (80%) of well water exceeds the threshold of quality standards. To the local health center to pay more attention to the community's clean water supply facilities to improve the health status of the local community.
