Abstract
Contraceptive use has increased in many parts of the world, especially in Asia and Latin America and is lowest in Sub-Saharan Africa. Modern contraceptive users have increased not significantly from 54% in 1990 to 57.4% in 2014. The aim of the study was to find out the factors that influence the lack of interest in maternal implant contraceptive acceptors.
The research design used an analytic survey with a cross sectional approach. The independent variables in this study are knowledge, health counseling, support, and maternal attitudes. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. The number of samples is 86 people. Data analysis techniques used univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test.
The result of this research shows that there was the effect of maternl knowledge with lack of interest of mother of family planning acceptors in using implant contraception with p value of 0,000, there is influence of health counseling with lack of interest of mother acceptors in using contraceptive implant with p value 0,001, no influence of husband support with lack the interest of mothers of family planning acceptors in using implant contraception with a p value of 0.380, there is an influence of maternal attitudes with the lack of interest of mothers of family planning acceptors in using implant contraception with a p value of 0.015.
The conclusion shows is there is a relationship between knowledge, health counseling, maternal attitudes and the number of mothers who are interested in using contraceptive implants. It is recommended that mothers of family planning acceptors increase their knowledge about the use of implant family planning by seeking information and attending health education.
