Abstract

Some women of childbearing age experience pain during menstruation. The pain lasts days before or the start of menstruation. Pain will be felt in the lower part of the abdomen, or middle and sometimes even to the hips, thighs, and back. The occurrence of dysmenorrheal in America in 2012, in women aged 12–17 years 59.7% with 49% degree of mild dysmenorrheal, 37% moderate dysmenorrheal, 12% severe dysmenorrheal which resulted in 23.6% of sufferers not come to school. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between class VII Female students behavior to be able to handle pain during menstruation.
The study design was an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach. A total of 43 respondents sampled using the technique by random sampling with the Slovin formula. The data used were primary data, secondary data and tertiary data. The data was analyzed using chi-square test.
The results of this study indicated that there was a relationship between the behavior of female students with the treatment of dismenorrheal from the chi-square test obtained a probability value (0.736) and> siq a = 0.05. The results of the univariate analysis that students got behavior and treatment 21 (48.8) respondents who have negative categories did not do 5 (11.6), and negative categories of do 16 (37.2). Of the 22 (51.2) respondents who have a positive category do 7 (16.3) and positive category 1 (34.9). The results of the bivariate behavior of female students with the treatment of dismenorrheal using chi-square at the 95% confidence level obtained a P value = 0.736> 0.05.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between the behavior of class VII female students and primary dysmenorrheal at SMPN 2 Pancur Batu, Pancur Batu Sub-district of Deli Serdang District in 2018. It is suggested that students have to develop and increase knowledge in the field of knowledge in the application of science in dysmenorrheal.
