Abstract
Data from Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) notes that 62.7% of teens are no longer virgins. Every year there are around 2.3 million abortion cases in Indonesia, where percent of them are teenagers. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship of sources of information with the behavior of young women about free sex.
This type of research used an analytical survey with a crooss sectional design. The location of the research at Parulian 1 High School in Jl. Teladan Stadium No. 23 Medan. The study was conducted in July-September 2018. The population of the study was 90 people and a sample of 47 people was obtained. Univariant analysis data, bivariant with chi square at 95% confidence level.
The results showed that the use of information sources was lacking (17.0%), lack of knowledge (8.5%), negative attitudes (93.6%), actions that were not good (59.6%). Sources of information are significant with values (p = .002 < .05). The better use of information sources the better the behavior of young women about free sex.
The conclusion of this study is that the source of information relates to the behavior of young women about free sex. It is recommended to students in Parulian 1 High School Medan to use information sources more carefully and wisely so that things do not happen that can harm such as pregnancy outside marriage, sexually transmitted diseases and others.
