Abstract
The main problem faced in Indonesia in the population sector is population growth which is still high. As a result of the high population growth, the greater effort is made to maintain people's welfare. The threat of population explosion in Indonesia is getting more real. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency distribution of husband's support with the participation of mothers as family planning acceptors for long-term contraceptive methods.
The design of this study uses analytical surveys with a cross sectional approach using chi-square data analysis and primary data collection, namely distributing direct questionnaires to mothers who consist of 45 respondents using Saturated Samples (Census Samples) method that was all mothers as family planning acceptors for term contraception methods long. The data analysis using Univariate to explain or describe the data done on each variable from the results of research and Bivariate that to find out the relationship between independent variables with dependent variables using chi-square analysis, at the limit of significance p-value statistical calculation (0.05).
The results of the study of 45 respondents (100%) most husbands did not support as many as 33 people (73.3%), and the participation of MKKP KB acceptors was 27 people (60%), in the husband's support variable the results were p-value = 0,000, then p-value = <α (0.05).
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between husband's support and the participation of mothers as acceptors for long-term contraceptive methods at Desa Baruas Padangsidimpuan, Batunadua Sub-District of Padangsidimpuan in 2018. It is expected that husbands provide physical and mental support to mothers in selecting contraception and becoming friends and giving time for counseling in family planning counseling services for long-term contraceptive methods.
