Abstract

Antenatal care (ANC) is a pre-maternity supervision primarily determined on the growth and development of the fetus in the womb. ANC is carried out on schedule during pregnancy. In developing countries pregnancy checks are carried out 4 times, at least 1 time in the first trimester and second trimester, and at least 2 times in the third trimester. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of knowledge of pregnant women about antenatal care visits (anc) with maternal compliance with pregnancy check up at the hj clinic. Mera Medan in 2018.
This study used an analytical survey research design using a cross sectional approach, the population in this study were 37 respondents. Samples with a total population technique were 37 respondents. Data analysis used was Chi-square analysis.
The results of this study indicate that the majority of respondents were well-informed as many as 25 people (67.6%), knowledgeable enough as many as 12 people (32.4%). And in this study also showed that the majority of 56.8% (21 respondents) obediently carried out periodic prenatal checkups and a minority of 43.2% (16 respondents) did not adhere to periodic pregnancy checks. This bivariate analysis was carried out using Chi-Square statistical tests to conclude that there was a relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women about antenatal care visits and maternal compliance with pregnancy checks at the Hj Clinic. Mera in 2018 with ɑ = 0.05.
It was concluded that there was a relationship between the knowledge of pregnant women about antenatal care visits and maternal adherence to pregnancy checks at the Hj Clinic. Mera in 2018. It is expected that pregnant women can find information about antenatal care visits so they can make regular visits.
