Abstract
Hypertension is a disorder of the blood vessels which results in obstruction of the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the body's tissues. The number of cases of hypertension in the work area of Teluk Dalam UPTD Plus Teluk Dalam in South Nias Regency in 2017 there are 236 cases with young adults (productive age), namely 20-40 years (122 people or 51.7%) not much different from those of age> 40 years (114 people or 48.3%).The aim of the study was to determinr the risk factors that influence the incidence of hypertension in young adulthood at the Teluk Dalam south Nias District.
The research used mixed method with quantitative approach to qualitative. The sample of cased was 76 people and the control sample was 76 people,so the total sample was 152 respondents. Data analysis used Chi Square (bivariate) test, and multiple logistic regression test.
The results showed a significant relationship between genetic risk factors with hypertension incidence p=0.014, risk fctors for exercise habits with the incidene of hypertension p=0.009, risk factors for alcohol consumption with the incidence of hypertension p=0.013, risk factors of knowledge with the incidence of hypertension p=0.001 and there is a relationship between the risk factors of attitude and the incidence of hypertension. The results of multivariate analysis showed that genetic that risk factors had a greater influence on the incidence of hypertension p (0.10) with the closeness of the relationship Exp (B)=2.608.
Conclusions from the results of this study that the influence of genetic risk factors, exercise habits,alcohol comsumption, knowledge and attitudes to the incidence of hypertension. From the results of this study suggested UPTD Perawatan Plus Health Centre Teluk Dalam to carry out a free tension program for hypertension sufferers, and provide helath promotion to prevent and reduce hypertension sufferers.
