Abstract
Breastmilk is the best natural nutrient for babies. Oxytocin massage is one solution to overcome the inability of breast milk production. This study aims to determine the differences in the mean before and after massage of Oxycontin to increase milk production in the Kurnia Clinic in Medan Denai District in 2018.
This type of research used quasi experimental (quasi experimental) with the pretest and posttest approach without control group. With the sampling technique is to use purposive sampling. When the study was conducted in July - October at Kurnia Clinic, Medan Denai Subdistrict in 2018, the study sample was 5 people Post Partum maternal day 4-40 at Kurnia Clinic Medan Denai Sub-District in 2018. Data were analyzed by conducting t-test.
The results showed that the average difference before and after the Oxycontin massage had a significant effect, which was tested by the t-test, obtained t-count = - 4,474 and t-table = 2,131, meaning t-table > t-count showed Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, The Post Partum maternal who has been treated for Oxycontin increases her breast milk on average.
The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of Oxycontin massage on increased breast milk production in Kurnia Clinic, Medan Denai Sub-District in 2018. It is recommended to midwives or other health workers if they find that breast milk is not smooth should be given to the midwife. Oxytocin was previously a midwife or health worker who had taken Oxycontin massage training.
