Abstract
Childbirth is a process of spending conception results (fetus and uri) that can live outside the world from the womb through the birth canal or other way. Assistance provided by the husband, biological mother, mother-in-law support in the form of emotional attention, information assistance and assessment. Husbands help their wives in completing household chores, the husband can entertain his wife when he feels sad or anxious. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of husband's assistance with the length of first stage of labor in the working area of the Puskesmas in the City of 2018.
This research uses analytical survey with Cross Sectional approach. all postpartum mothers in the Langsa City Health Center Work Area in July-October were 37 people, using the Accidental Sampling technique, where accidental sampling was planned without anyone planning to become a sample, as many as 37 respondents.
The results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between husband assistance with the length of labor at first stage in the langsa city health center in 2018, seen from the chi-square test α = 0.05 obtained p-value 0.010 (p <α).
The conclusion of this study is the relationship of husband's accompaniment to the length of labor at the first stage in the Langsa Kota Health Center Work Area in 2018. Therefore, it is advisable to place research especially for health workers and cadres to provide counseling about the husband's assistance in dealing with childbirth and improve quality of health services.
