Abstract
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) (2014) modern
contraceptive users have increased not significantly from 54% in 1990 to 57.4%
in 2014. Long-term Contraception Methods are contraceptives that can be used
for more than two years, effective and efficient for the purpose of using to prevent
births more than three years or terminate a pregnancy or not want to add more
children. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and
attitudes of mothers with the use of long-term contraceptive methods at
Namorambe Health Center.
The type of research used is cross sectional research where measurements
or observations are carried out at the same time on independent and dependent
variable data. The population and sample were 34 people. The data analysis was
done by univariate and bivariate analysis with chi-square test.
Based on the results of the study Fisher's exact test results showed that the
value of = 0.027 <0.05, meaning that there was a significant relationship
between knowledge with the use of long-term contraceptive methods in women of
fertile age couple at Namorambe Health Center. The chi-square test results
showed that the value of = 0.001 <0.05, means that there was a significant
relationship between attitudes with the use of long-term contraceptive methods in
mothers of fertile age couple at Namorambe Health Center.
The conclusion of this study shows that there is a relationship between
knowledge and attitudes with the use of long-term contraceptive methods in
women of fertile age couple at Namorambe Health Center. The results of this
study are expected to become a treasury of knowledge for mothers about choosing
contraceptives that are good and effective as well as long-term use.
