Abstract
Anaemia is a disease that arises from the impact of lack of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) with signs of weakness, fatigue, lethargy, dizziness. In Indonesia the prevalence of anemia is very high, namely 70%: 7 out of 10 maternal experience death due to anemia in pregnancy.
The purpose was to analyze the risk factors for anemia in maternal at the Martua Clinic in Medan 2019. It was an analytical survey with a Case-Control Study Method. The sampling technique used secondary data of 136 maternal, 68 with anemia, and 68 without anemia from January-December 2018 at the Martua Sudarlis Clinic in Medan.
The results of the study of 136 maternal based on the age of 20 to 35 years were the majority of 79 maternal (58.1%), multiparous parity of 111 maternal (81.6%), nutritional status with BEK maternal the majority of 111 maternal (81.6%) , the corresponding ANC frequency ≥ 4 times during pregnancy was 86 maternal (63.2%). The results of bivariate research showed that there was a relationship between age and the incidence of anemia obtained by the value of Sig (p=.001), there was a relationship of parity with the value of Sig (P=.015), there was a relationship of nutritional status with the Sig (p=.015), and there is a correlation between the ANC frequency with the Sig (p=.013).
It is expected that Martua Sudarlis Medan Pratama Clinic can improve midwifery care services for maternal with anemia.
